TUESDAY 20 JUNE

9:30AM – 1:00PM | DUE DROP EVENTS CENTRE

Hine O Te Kura Youth Symposium was delivered on Tuesday, 20 June 2023 at the Due Drop Events Centre.

We had an incredible line up of speakers, Sport New Zealand, Dignity NZ, AWWA, Organic Initiative, InsideOut, and Education Outdoors New Zealand.

Our fantastic MC, Arizona Leger and FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023TM mascot, Tazuni TM stole the show.

What happens next?

This event will help create a meaningful legacy resource, in the form of digital assets, that will endure and support rangatahi now, and in the future.

Research Content

Quantitative and Qualitative research was undertaken by Honoco, and this research will be made publicly available to help inform and validate future work in this area.

Education Content

Tātaki Auckland Unlimited, supported by Sport New Zealand, will develop a suite of digital assets based on the recording of the Hine O Te Kura Youth Symposium, to support rangatahi to feel better informed, better educated and more empowered to manage menstruation in their daily lives. From the presentations and panel guests, we will create digital content to support rangatahi, parents, whānau, teachers and sports coaches. There will be a range of assets available to amplify and continue this conversation, to include:

  • Educational Episodes: speaker sessions will provide a resource available to teachers and coaches.
  • Hero Content: 2-3 minute videos conveying key messages from sessions, individual interviews with speaker and other session guests.
  • 15 second content: A 15s cutdown of each session will be used for social media by partners to help push the viewers to watch the hero content.

These resources will be available nationally.
